Men’s Volleyball Swept by Irvine Valley

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-19) non-conference loss to visiting Irvine Valley on Friday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors dropped their second straight match after posting a .000 attack percentage. The offense tallied 27 kills but also racked up 27 errors on the night on 92 swings while the Lasers posted 32 kills with 15 errors on 91 attempts.

Mark Jensen-Padaoil and Garret Gronbach each tallied seven kills to lead the Warriors with Jordan Jote adding six and Owen Loebs recording five in the loss. Gronbach led the way with 12 digs and two blocks but it was not enough against the Lasers.

Jackson McGrew led IVC with 10 kills on 31 swings with just two errors and Joshua Damianopoulos added seven kills on 12 attempts. Bryce Nohava dished out 27 assists and seven digs while Damianopoulos also added a game-high five blocks.

The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday night when San Diego Mesa visits the ECC Gym Complex. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
