TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 3-1 (24-26, 25-23, 25-9, 25-21) Western State Conference loss to Santa Barbara on Friday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
The Warriors got a double-double from Garrett Gronbach with 13 kills and 10 digs while Bishop Sneed led the team with 14 kills on a .300 attack percentage (14-5-30) but it was not enough.
Cole Richards hammered down a match-high 19 kills for the Vaqueros while attacking at a .333 clip (19-4-45) with Gavin Kristic recording a double-double with 35 assists and 10 digs to score the victory in four sets.
As a team, the Vaqueros attacked at a .289 percentage and also had eight total blocks (three solo, 10 assists) while the Warriors hit at a .168 clip with just four block assists on the night.
The Warriors will look to regroup on Wednesday with a road match against rival Long Beach scheduled for 6 p.m.
