Men’s Volleyball Cruises Past Fullerton in Season Opener

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College opened the 2022 season with an impressive 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-14) victory over Fullerton Friday night at the ECC Gymnasium.
The Warriors (1-0) offense was outstanding as the team attacked at a .500 clip, making just seven hitting errors on the night. They also added six service aces in the victory.
Travis Hannemann led the Warriors with 11 kills on 19 swings with just three errors (.421). Dylan Garcia (.385) and Andrew White (.778) each added seven kills. White was 7-for-9 on attacks without an error. Every Warriors player that recorded a kill on Friday night attacked at a clip of .385 or better against the Hornets.
Vladimir Kubr (22) and Mark Antonov (11) notched 33 of the team's 34 assists while serving the team to the impressive .500 team attack percentage.
For the Hornets, Leonardo Mazuco led the team with 10 kills and Aaron Delgado-Tietze dished out 12 assists.
The Warriors will return to action on Feb. 5 with two matches at the OCC Quad hosted by Orange Coast. The Warriors will face the host Pirates at 1 p.m. and then take on Irvine Valley at 4 p.m.
