TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College defeated visiting San Diego Mesa 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16) Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.
Gabriel Vargas-Featherstone led the charge for the Warriors (4-1) with 13 kills and just three errors on 30 swings in the victory. He added two digs and two service aces. Dan Johnson had eight kills and Tommy Fraker dished out 21 assists.
For the Olympians, Francisco Verdugo and Jesus Garcia had eight kills apiece to lead the offense and Josh Gonzales dished out 22 assists.
The Warriors dominated the match, trailing only twice on the night with their biggest deficit a 2-0 score in the second set.
The Warriors will return to action Wednesday night as they host Orange Coast. It will be the second match between the teams as the Pirates downed the Warriors in four sets on Feb. 1 at the OCC Quad.
