WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – No. 7 El Camino College is two wins away from the CCCAA State Championship.

El Camino advanced to the semifinals after pulling off a 3-1 (25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 25-17) upset over No. 2 Irvine Valley on Friday night in Irvine. Medina led the way with 24 kills while Pedro Campos dished out 60 assists.

The Vikings won the Western State Conference this season and swept two matches from the Warriors. ECC dropped a five-set thriller in the first meeting between the teams back on March 31.

Cesar Medina led the Warriors with 20 kills and PJ Tulikihihifo added 10 in the loss. The teams met again in the regular season finale at Long Beach, where the Warriors took the opening set, 27-25.
