Warriors Travel to Orange Coast College and Take First Place in Javelin

The Warriors traveled to Orange Coast College on Friday morning to compete against Cuyamaca College, Palomar College and Orange Coast. Several Warriors placed well and took first place in their events. Nicole Clark continues to dominate the javelin and took first place once more. Clark also took first place in the shot put at 10.23m. Kevin and Travis Heinemann took first and second for the Warriors at 45.89m and 44.76 in the javelin throw.

Victoria Porter shined in the 1500 meter run, finishing first with a time of 5:09.31 and blew past her competition in the 800m run to also take first at 2:27.44. Anaiah Brown took first in the 100m dash at 13.17, while Sheniya Mason followed in third (13.73). Mason participated in the 200m dash where she finished in third as well, coming in at 28.14. Ivery Cody finished 15.80 in the 100m hurdles to put her at third while Tyler was right behind her by .3. Both Sierra Peterson and Antaniece Johnson represented the Warriors in the 400m dash, placing second and third.

Shukura Tyker took on the long jump and placed second with a distance of 5.12m, as well as finished first in the triple jump (10.06m). Yazmine Al-Uqdah was right behind her at 4.89m to take third place. Ashley Wells threw 36.73m in the hammer throw which put her in first place in the competition. She took first place in the discus throw with 34.87m and competed in the shot put to take second with 9.86m. Marie Abe came away with first place, improving off her previous distance with 2.99m, she also took fifth place in the javelin throw with 24.05m.

Israel Cardona ended the day in third for the 1500m run but placed fifth in the 3000m run. Josue Vargas and Justin Moore ran the 110m hurdles for the Warriors, placing second and third. Vargas also competed in the 400m dash and finished second, right after Justin Alexander. Along with Alexander, Vargas helped push El Camino to first place in the 4x400m relay. Vargas also competed in the long jump where he finished at 6.02m to take second place. Moore ran alongside Alex Castro and Ronald Koh in the 400m hurdles where he finished in fifth, while Castro came away with first place and Koh in sixth.

For the 100m dash, Jerrett Anderson and Sam Munro represented the Warriors and took first and sixth place. Anderson placed second in the 200m dash while Alexander took first at 22.35.
