Men’s Tennis Drops Conference Opener to Desert
TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 5-2 Inland Empire Athletic Conference loss to visiting College of the Desert on Tuesday evening at the ECC Tennis Courts.
The Warriors dropped both doubles matches but did log two victories in singles in the match. It was the home opener and conference opener for the Warriors while the Roadrunners were playing their first match of the entire season.
Shubham Waldiya won his No. 1 singles match in a third-set tiebreaker (6-7, 6-4, 10-7) and pushed his record to 2-2 on the season.
Sasha Sewell picked up his first victory of the season with a straight-sets win in the No. 3 singles match against Ethan Auger, pulling out a 6-3, 6-3 decision.
The Warriors will return to action on Thursday with a road contest against Imperial Valley with first serve set for 2 p.m.
