Nonaka and Vasquez Eliminated from CCCAA State Championships

After scoring a pair of victories on day one of the California Community College Men's Tennis State Championships, El Camino College's last remaining doubles team of Riku Nonaka and Trey Vasquez had their run cut short on Friday, falling in the round of 32 in Ojai, Calif.

Nonaka and Vasquez played a tough match but fell to the No. 10 seed from Southern California, Lirone Abecassis and Tomas Bernardes of Grossmont.

The two teams battled in a close match but the No. 10 seed scored a 7-5, 7-5 victory to advance to the round of 16 while Nonaka and Vasquez saw their state tournament run come to an end.
