Men’s Soccer State Title Defense Begins Saturday, Draw No. 3 Seed in Postseason

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College has drawn the No. 3 seed in the 2024 3C2A Southern California Men's Soccer Regionals, it was announced Monday.

The defending state champions will have a first-round by and begin their title defense on Saturday in round two against either No. 14 San Bernardino Valley or No. 19 MiraCosta. Those two teams will face off in the first round on Wednesday at SBVC.

The Warriors were one of seven South Coast Conference teams to qualify for the 2024 postseason, cementing the conference as the top soccer league in the state. The others in the tournament include No. 1 Long Beach City, No. 2 Mount San Antonio, No. 4 Cerritos, No. 9 L.A. City, No. 13 Pasadena City and No. 22 Compton.

The Warriors finished the 2024 regular season campaign with a 14-2-4 overall record and won the South Coast Conference, South Division title with a 7-1-1 overall record. It was the second straight conference title under head coach Michael Jacobson.

This season, the Warriors faced SBVC on Sept. 27 and scored a 2-0 win on the road. The Warriors did not face MiraCosta this year.

Saturday's kickoff time is yet to be determined.
