Nakano Signs With Albirex Nigata Singapore Football Club

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College forward Shingo Nakano has signed a professional contract to play for the Albirex Nigata Singapore Football Club of the AIA Singapore Premier League.

The 19-year-old forward joins a club that is coming off two straight AIA Singapore Premier League Championships and three in the last four seasons. They have won six titles overall and are based in Jurong East, Singapore. They are a satellite team of the Albirex Nigata of Japan, which plays in the J1 League, the top level of the Japan Professional Football League.

Nakano played in 23 matches for the Warriors and was the second leading scorer on the team with 34 total points. He was second on the team with 14 goals on the season despite making just nine starts and he also added six assists in his freshman campaign with the Warriors.

He was named to the All-South Coast Conference second team.

He helped lead the Warriors to a 24-1 overall record and the program's first state championship since 1992. The team was also named National Champions by the United Soccer Coaches. The Warriors scored 111 goals in 2023 to set a new program record and is the most goals ever scored by a team in the 3C2A in recorded history dating back to 2013. The next closest team scoring 89 goals in 2021 (Hartnell). No team had ever recorded 90-plus goals in the 3C2A prior to this season.
