United Soccer Coaches' National Players of the Week - Oct. 11

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Freshman Aldahir Rua became the third El Camino College player to be named the United Soccer Coaches' National Junior College Men's Player of the Week, it was announced Wednesday.

Rua was instrumental in helping the Warriors open conference play on a winning note, scoring a goal in the team's 3-0 win at Mt. SAC and their 2-1 victory at Cerritos.

The freshman defender becomes the third player from the Warriors to earn the nod from the United Soccer Coaches this season. Donovan Palomares earned the distinction on Sept. 27 while Marvin Gamez was given the honor on Sept. 20.

Rua has played in all 12 matches for the Warriors this season and has made 10 starts. He has four goals with two assists on the season.

The Warriors are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation according to the USC Rankings and are 11-1-0 overall this season. They are 3-0-0 in South Coast Conference play and will conclude this week with a road match at East Los Angeles on Friday.
