United Soccer Coaches' Players of the Week - Week 2 Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Freshman Marvin Gamez was named the United Soccer Coaches' National Junior College Player of the Week, it was announced Wednesday.
Gamez achieved his first career hat trick during the opening half of ECC's 11-1 victory against Cypress. In that same first half, he contributed two assists. Additionally, Gamez scored the first goal in ECC's 5-0 away victory against Palomar on Friday. It was his third game-winning goal.
The accolades continue for the men's soccer team as the Warriors were ranked the No. 2 team in the nation in Tuesday's USC Top-20 Poll. They are currently riding a four-match winning streak after downing Glendale 5-0 on Tuesday night at Glendale.
Each Wednesday during the college regular season, United Soccer Coaches selects a men's and women's Player of the Week for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and Junior College competition based on nominations from schools and conferences.
