IRVINE, Calif. --- El Camino College kicked off the 2023 season with a 3-0 victory over Irvine Valley on Tuesday afternoon at IVC.
The Warriors got a pair of goals from Marvin Gamez in the 11th and 22nd minute with Shingo Nakano dishing out the assists on each tally. Donovan Palomares secured the clean sheet with three saves as he manned the net for all 90 minutes.
Jovanny Mejia capped the scoring for the Warriors as he pounced on a rebound off a penalty kick in the 66th minute to make it 3-0 for ECC.
The Warriors will play their first home match of the year on Friday afternoon when they host Santa Monica for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
