WHITTIER, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors men's soccer team defeated Rio Hondo 3-2 on the road on Friday afternoon.
The Warriors moved to 15-2 (7-1 SCC) for the season. The Warriors have locked up the No. 2 seed in the South Coast Conference behind Cerritos College who went undefeated in conference play.
The Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the first half after goals from Andy Cabrera and Alek Palomares.
Rio Hondo scored in the 64th minute to make it a 2-1 game but Jovaugn Cole scored three minutes later to restore the two goal advantage.
The Roadrunners got a penalty kick in the 70th minute but the Warriors were able to close out the game and pick up the win.
The game featured nine yellow cards with Rio Hondo getting five of them and the Warriors being shown four yellows.
Donovan Palomares made three saves for the game to pick up the win.
The Warriors will face Compton College in their final game of the regular season before the South Coast Conference tournament.
