Warriors Win Fifth Straight Match in Rout of Glendale

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College stayed hot on Tuesday afternoon with a 5-0 non-conference victory over Glendale at the ECC Soccer Field.

The Warriors (6-1) won their fifth consecutive match and stayed undefeated at home in five contests. Sophomore Mario Carlos continued his brilliant start to the season with a two-goal performance against the Vaqueros. It was his second multi-goal performance of the year and he now has seven goals in seven games.

Carson Nguyen, Emiliano Amaro and Haruki Utsumi all scored as well while goalkeepers Donovan Palomares and Bernardo Silva combined for the shutout.

The Warriors defense was incredibly stingy on Tuesday, allowing just one shot total to the Vaqueros and none on target. The Warriors defense has now gone 411:25 since allowing their last goal on Sept. 6 against Norco. During that span, the team has allowed just five shots on goal, all of them swiped away by their goalkeepers.

The Warriors will now head to Chaffey on Friday afternoon for a 2 p.m. kickoff and then wrap up non-conference play on Sept. 27 with a road contest at Bakersfield.
