Mario Carlos Named National JUCO Soccer Player of the Week

United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week Announcement - October 27th, 2021

TORRANCE, Calif. - It was announced on Wednesday that freshman forward Mario Carlos has been named the United Soccer Coaches national junior college player of the week.  This is the second player of the week award won by a Warrior this season with Andy Cabrera receiving similar honors earlier in the month.

Carlos was honored for his excellent week against Pasadena City College and LA Harbor. Against the Lancers, Carlos scored both goals of the game. Against the Seahawks, Carlos scored the equalzing header in the 89th minute.  Carlos also scored two goals against East Los Angeles in the previous Friday game.  Carlos has scored six goals in his past four games after scoring again against Long Beach City College on Tuesday.

Carlos leads the Warriors with 27 points on the season. He has scored twelve goals and has three assists. Three of his goals have been game-winning goals.  Carlos is fifth in the state in goals with twelve goals and third in the South Coast Conference.

The Warriors will face Los Angeles City College in their final home game of the regular season on Friday, October 29th.  Kick-off is set for 2:00 PM.
