Cabrera and Carlos Goals Sink Moorpark at Home

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College scored three goals at home en route to a 3-1 victory on Friday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field

The newly minted No.1 ranked team in Southern California by the CCCSIA continued their hot start to the season by picking up their fourth win in a row to start the season.  The Warriors (4-0-0) offense was led by Andy Cabrera's brace and a goal by Mario Carlos.  Johnny Morales scored the lone goal for the Raiders (1-2-1).

The Warriors got on board early in the 5th minute game.  Justin Ortega intercepted a ball near the 50 yard line and sent a ball up the field down the left side to Brandon Bautista who hit a perfect one-time cross to Andy Cabrera who easily buried it past the keeper on his first touch for his first goal of the game.

The Raiders found the equalizer midway through the first half.  After a stellar save on a header by Luis Garibay, the Warriors defense had trouble clearing the ball and Johnny Morales was able to blast one to the right upper corner past a leaping Garibay to make it a 1-1 game.

The Warriors were able to get the go-ahead goal before the halftime whistle in the 41st minute.  After a backpass from the Moorpark centerback to the keeper, the Raider's keeper mishit the ball barely to the top of the 18-yard box right to Andy Cabrera who was able to slot it past the keeper to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead.

The Warriors got their third and final goal of the day in the 77th minute.  After a freekick inside their own half, Brandon Galindo passed a ball to Richard Andrade who quickly passed the ball to Mario Carlos.  Carlos dribbled the ball about 15 yards before unleasing a laser shot into the left top bin for his 4th goal of the season.

Luis Garibay picked up the win and had four saves for the game.

The Warriors head to San Diego Mesa for their next game on Tuesday, September 14th.. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM
