Men’s Soccer Earns Top-Four Seed, Hosts Cypress in Opening Round

El Camino College earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming California Community College Athletics Association Men's Soccer Southern California Regional Playoffs, it was announced Tuesday.

The Warriors will host No. 13 Cypress in the opening round on Saturday night at 6 p.m. inside Murdock Stadium. It is ECC's first postseason appearance since 2014 when the team earned the No. 3 seed in Southern California.

In 2019, the Warriors finished with one of the best regular seasons in program history as they finished the year with a 12-2-5 overall record and 3-1-4 mark in South Coast Conference action, earning third place in the inaugural SCC Tournament.

The Chargers finished sixth in the Orange Empire Conference with a 3-4-5 conference record but posted a 10-4-6 mark overall on the season.

The Warriors and Chargers are paired in the bracket with No. 5 Orange Coast and No. 12 Irvine Valley, who face off Saturday at 2 p.m. The winners of each match will face off Tuesday in round two of the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs at the home field of the higher seed.
