TORRANCE, Calif. - Kalyl Silva scored the game-winning goal in the 61st minute to send the El Camino College Warriors to the semifinals of the inaugural South Coast Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.

The No.3 seeded Warriors (11-1-5) will now head to Cerritos College to take on the No.2 seeded Falcons on Tuesday at 3:00 PM.  The Falcons were the only team able to beat the Warriors during the regular season.

The quarterfinal game between the No.3 Warriors and the No.6 seeded LA Harbor Seahawks (2-8-10) was a pretty even sided affair.   There were 31 fouls called in the match with 20 of them committed by the Seahawks. Only one yellow card was shown despite the persistent infringement of the LA Harbor players.

Each side had 17 shots for the game.  The Warriors had four shots on goal compared to the Falcons three shots on goal.  Juan Montes continued his stellar form in net by making three saves for the game.

The Warriors finally found the breakthrough goal in the 61st minute of the game.  Kalyl Silva played a quick 1-2 combination Cristo Deras who was able to slot the ball back to Silva inside the box.  Silva slotted the ball into the near post to score the only goal of the game.

The Warriors also had a great chance to score in the 79th minute.  Eduardo Grados had a shot ring off the crossbar. Melvyn Perez-Cortez's shot was blocked on the rebound and finally Cristo Deras shot wide right on the final deflection.

After playing a tough game on Tuesday and drawing with the No.1 team in the conference Mt. Sac.  The Warriors were able to rest many of their key players for most of the second half to keep their legs fresh for next Tuesday's showdown.

With their quarterfinal win over LA Harbor, the Warriors are guaranteed no worse than the 3rd place game for next Friday's South Coast Conference tournament conclusion held at El Camino College.  If the Warriors are able to defeat Cerritos on the road, they will be in the championship game. If they lose to the Falcons, they will be in the third place game.
