After dropping their first game of the season against the No.4 ranked Cerritos College, the Warriors have dropped five spots in the latest United Soccer Coaches NJCAA DIII Poll to No.12. They have previously clocked in as the No.7, No.8 and No.11 team in the same poll. 

Of the top 17 teams ranked, there are 12 teams from the California Community College Athletic Association. The Warriors remain the third ranked team from Southern California behind #1 Mt. Sac and #4 Cerritos

The Warriors are off to one of their best starts since 2004.  The Warriors are 8-1-1 through the first eight weeks of the season. This was the first time the Warriors had gone undefeated into the month of October (no historical archive found from before the 2004 season).  They have outscored opponents 22 goals to 7 goals allowed.

The Warriors dropped their first game of the season in a tough matchup against conference foe, Cerritos College. The Warriors lost 4-1 for the game and it was the first time they conceded more than one goal.  

The Warriors have at least four players with seven points.  Oliver Diaz leads the team with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists).  Melvyn Perez-Cortez is second with 9 points (4 goals, 1 assist).   Larry Lopez has 9 points (3 goals, 3 assists).  Eduardo Grados has 8 points (3 goals, 2 assists). Luis Garibay has been fantastic in goal for the Warriors. Garibay has allowed just seven goals in 900 minutes and has a miniscule 0.70 goals against average.  Garibay has made 31 saves and owns a .816 save percentage. Garibay and the stellar defense have kept six clean sheets so far this season.

The Warriors will head to Long Beach City College on Tuesday night.  Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
