Men’s Soccer draws with LA Harbor at Home

TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino drew with LA Harbor at home on Friday evening in their home conference opening game.

The Warriors (3-2-3, 0-0-2) had to come back in this game after giving up an early goal to the Seahawks (3-3-4, 0-1-1).  Daberchukwu Anyadike took advantage of a misplayed ball by the El Camino defense and poked one past Andrew Argueta in net for the Warriors in the 7th minute.

Jean-Pierre Dejean Macksa scored the only goal for the Warriors.   On their first possession to start the second half, Mason Briggs played a great through ball to Macksa on the left side of the box and Macksa easily slid it pass the LA Harbor goalkeeper to level the game.

Macksa had two more opportunities in the 58th and 59th minute to put the Warriors ahead in the game, but he saw his shots sail wide of goal.

The Warriors had two more good scoring looks in the game.  In the 78th minute, Cole Prince found himself wide open after a freekick but shot it wide of the net.  In the 90th minute, Dara Fakhouri got his head on a cross from the right side, but the ball went over the crossbar.

Andrew Argueta started in goal for the Warriors.  He was credited with one save.

The game featured 25 fouls and 5 yellow cards.   LA Harbor had 15 fouls to El Camino's 10. Three LA Harbor players were issued yellow cards, two El Camino players were shown yellow cards.

The Warriors will head to Compton College for their next game on Tuesday, October 2nd.  Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM.
