Fakhouri Late Equalizer Salvages Draw with Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. - With three minutes left to go in the game against Long Beach, El Camino College was heading for a 2-1 loss in their South Coast Conference opener.

Fakhouri's 25-yard free kick goal in the 88th minute secured the draw for the Warriors.  

Long Beach City College had a two goal lead at halftime.  Carlos Maldonado was able to slot a ball past Brandon Cardenas in the 32nd minute to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead.   Miles Hodgson scored a freekick before the HT whistle to give the Vikings a 2-0 advantage.

The Warriors got their first goal back in the 63rd minute.  Stanley Torres was able to score a goal off a corner kick from Andy Salguero.  Then in the 88th minute Fakhouri was able to blast a 25-yard free kick goal to rescue a draw for the Warriors.

Brandon Cardenas made two saves on the day in net for the Warriors.  Long Beach outshot the Warriors 10 to 5, however both teams had three shots on goal.

There were 10 yellow cards issued on the day.  Six for the Vikings, four for the Warriors.

The Warriors will look to continue their 4-game unbeaten streak as they face LA Harbor at home.  Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM.
