2017 SEASON IN REVIEW: After winning only one game and tying in two games last season, the 2017 El Camino College men's soccer team season marked a steady improvement.   The Warriors finished with an overall 6-9-7 record compared to last year's 1-17-2 season.   They also scored 30 goals for the 2017 season compared to the 17 goals scored last year.

ECC started the season optimistically with a 2-1 victory over Citrus College and a 1-1 draw with Orange Coast College.  They opened September with back to back losses against Santa Monica and Glendale.  They picked up three solid wins in a row vs Irvine Valley, Moorpark, and Antelope Valley and picked up an important point in draw at Long Beach City College.  However, they faltered against the strong competition in Golden West College and Cerritos College to finish the month of September.

The month of October was not the kindest to the Warriors soccer team.  ECC went 2-5-2 during the month of October and their win against East Los Angeles at home was a signature victory for the Warriors.  After needing just one more win to finish the season to secure a spot in the CCCAA Socal playoffs, the Warriors fell short of the mark and completed the month of November with three consecutive draws.  Overall the season for the Warriors was a huge improvement over last season's campaign.

Jason Santana finished a fantastic sophomore season for the Warriors and led the team with nine goals.  Santana had two game winning goals against Irvine Valley and Moorpark.  His goal against Cerritos on September 29th was the first goal that Cerritos gave up all season.  Santana was named to the All-SCC South Division first team.

Misa Serrano also had a great sophomore season and was named to the All-SCC South Division first team as well.  Serrano scored three goals and led to the Warriors with six assists.

Reyes Jaimes built on a solid freshman season last year with an even better sophomore campaign.   Jaimes chipped in with four goals and two assists including the game-winning goal against Citrus College to begin the season.  Jaimes named to the All-SCC South Division second team.

Stephen Vincent led the Warriors as the team captain, and was the Marshall of the Warrior backline. Vincent was named to the All-SCC South Division second team.  The Warriors kept two clean sheets for the year against Canyons and a solid Irvine Valley College team that made it to the second round of the CCCAA SoCal playoffs.

Gregory Natt finished the season with 10 points.  Natt had four goals and three assists for the season.

Notes: This was head coach John Britton's last year as the head coach of the men's soccer team.
