Two First Half LBCC Goals Sink El Camino College 2-0 at Home

TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College gave up two goals in the first half which was enough for Long Beach City College to claim a 2-0 victory on Friday afternoon at the ECC Soccer Field.

El Camino College (6-8-4, 0-4-1) was looking to add another positive result to their week after drawing with Rio Hondo College on Tuesday.  However, Long Beach City College (10-4-2, 2-1-1) had other plans and picked up the 2-0 win on the road.

Friday's game was a feisty affair that continued on from the previous meeting between these teams on September 26th, 2017 that ended in a draw.   The game featured thirty-three fouls combined from both teams. Three Viking players were shown yellow cards.   Jason Santana picked up a yellow card and Cole Prince picked up a red card for the Warriors.

Christopher Ribet scored both goals for the Vikings in the first half.  He scored the first goal in the 19th minute after heading in the ball pass Cesar Amezcua on a throw-in.  He later scored at the very end of the first half off a cross from the right side of the box.

The Warriors were outshot by the Vikings 16-12.  ECC shot 10 of their 12 shots in the 2nd half.

Amezcua made six saves off eight shots on goal for the Warriors.

The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday, October 31st at Cerritos College.  The last time these two teams met in September, the Falcons picked up a 3-1 victory on the road.
