Santana’s Two Goals Propel El Camino to 2-2 Draw at Pasadena City College

PASADENA, Calif. - Jason Santana scored two goals within five minutes in the second half to lead El Camino College to a 2-2 draw with Pasadena City College on Friday afternoon.

El Camino College (5-6-3, 0-3-1) was looking to escape out of their three-game losing streak in a SCC crossover game vs Pasadena City College (2-6-4, 0-3-1).  The first half was a scoreless affair between both sides before the action heated up in the second half with two goals for either side.

The Lancers opened up the scoring in the 58th minute when Bryce Watson scored from 10 yards out.

The Warriors would immediately respond a minute later when Jason Santana took a pass from Misa Serrano and scored deep inside the box.  Santana would score again five minutes later in the 63rd minute when Serrano again passed him the ball and Santana shot the ball into the left corner of the net.

However, ECC could not hold onto the 2-1 advantage and conceded a free kick goal to Bryce Watson in the 78th minute.

El Camino College gained a one-man advantage in the 87th minute when the Lancers' Pablo Buenrostro was issued a red card after receiving two consecutive yellow cards.

The Warriors would get two more shots in the final three minutes but could not break the Lancer defense again.

Cesar Amezcua tallied 10 saves on the day for the Warriors.

The Warriors will return next week with two games at home.   On Tuesday, October 17th vs Mt. San Antonio and on Friday, October 20th against East Los Angeles.  Both matches are set to kick-off at 2:00 PM.
