Burrell’s Goal the Difference as Warriors Top Canyons

Brian Burrell's goal in the first half proved to be the only scoring of the match as El Camino College scored a 1-0 non-conference road victory over College of the Canyons on Tuesday afternoon at Cougar Field.

Burrell tallied his second goal of the season, both coming in the past three matches, in the 23rd minute as he beat Cougars goalkeeper Gabriel Ochoa to put ECC ahead 1-0.

The Warriors defense did the rest as they did not allow the Cougars to record a shot on target in six attempts. Goalkeeper Cesar Amezcua recorded the clean sheet without having to make a single stop on the day.

Tuesday's contest was the Warriors' final non South Coast Conference match of the season as the remaining 11 matches on the schedule will come against an SCC-South Division opponent or a SCC crossover matchup.

The final half of the Warriors season begins Friday afternoon as they travel to Compton College for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
