Warriors Battle at Costa Mesa Country Club

COSTA MESA, Calif. --- El Camino College posted its best collective score of the season on Wednesday at the Orange Empire Conference match hosted by Orange Coast at Costa Mesa Country Club.
The Warriors posted a 52-over 402, their best mark of the season by six strokes at the Mesa Linda Course at Costa Mesa Country Club. The team had two players score in the 70s with three shoot in the 80s at the Par-70 course.
Aden Henry paced the Warriors with a 4-over 74, good for a top-20 finish as he tied for 16th place. It was his second-best score of the season, missing his best by just one stroke. It was also his fifth round shooting in the 70s this season.
Kevin Hikichi came in close behind with a 5-over 75 on Wednesday. He was tied for 24th place in the 54-player field. Chazz Hernandez (82), Diego Lica (84) and Harrison Herbert 87) rounded out the Warriors' team score on the day.
Matt Ingram of Orange Coast and Cory Rose of Victor Valley shared medalist honors as they both carded a 5-under 65. Four players recorded rounds under par on the day.
In the team scoring, Cypress scored the victory with a 6-over 356, edging hosts Orange Coast (360) by four strokes. College of the Desert (362) rounded out the top three.
The Warriors will return to action on Monday, March 24 as Victor Valley hosts the next OEC match at Bear Valley Country Club.
