Warriors Head to Navy Golf Course for Conference Tilt

CYPRESS, Calif. --- El Camino College made its way to the Navy Golf Course for the second Orange Empire Conference, Coastal Division match hosted by Cypress College on Monday.

The Warriors placed fifth for the second straight week after posting a 37-over 397 on Monday. They were six shots behind Saddleback while the host Chargers took first place with a 10-over 370 on their home course. Orange Coast edged Cuyamaca for second place with both teams finishing 18-over (378) but OCC took the tiebreaker with a better score from their sixth golfer.

Individually, Bradley Yamamoto carded his second straight 3-over 75 to pace the team. He just missed out on a second straight top-10 finish as he was tied for 11th on Monday. Chan Woo Suk recorded a 5-over 77 for his best score of the season in four outings, which was good for a 16th place finish. Yvo Galvez went 7-over 79 on Monday to tie for 19th while Kevin Hikichi (82) and Daniel Crossan (84) rounded out the team's scoring.

Saddleback's Jack Shipton took home first place as the only player to break par on Monday. He shot a 3-under 69 to finish three shots ahead of three golfers. Will Oates of Cypress finished solo fifth (73) and five players tied for sixth with a 2-over 74.

The Warriors will next take to the links in three weeks as they head to the Mesa Linda Course at Costa Mesa Country Club for the next OEC Coastal match hosted by Orange Coast on March 25.
