Men’s Golf Opens Conference Action at Alondra Golf Course
TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College opened Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday at Alondra Golf Course in Lawndale, Calif.
The Warriors placed fifth at their home course after shooting a 33-over 393. Cypress took down first place with a 364 with Cuyamaca close behind in second with a 366. Orange Coast (372) and Saddleback (381) rounded out the results.
Indvidually, Bradley Yamamoto led the team as he recorded his lowest round of the season, shooting a 3-over 75 to finish tied for 10th, his first top-10 finish of the season and the third for the Warriors in as many outings.
Yvo Galvez was one shot behind with a 4-over 76 to finish tied for 14th in his second outing this season.
Tiger Tahvildari of Cypress took home the victory after shooting a 3-under 69, the only player to break 70. Six total players broke par on Wednesday.
The Warriors will return to action on Monday as they head to the Navy Golf Course in Cypress, Calif. as Cypress will host the next OEC Coastal Division match. Players are set to tee off at 9:30 a.m.
