Crossan Finishes Third, Team Places Sixth at Eagle Classic

SAN JACINTO, Calif. --- Freshman Daniel Crossan finished tied for third and El Camino College placed sixth overall on Wednesday at the Eagle Classic hosted by Mount San Jacinto at Soboba Springs Golf Club.

Crossan finished in a three-way tie for third place after shooting a 2-over 74, just one stroke back of co-medalists Vincent Chen (Riverside) and Ricky Sullivan (Reedley). It was the first top-five finish by a Warriors golfer this season and second top-10.

On the team side, the Warriors used Crossan's excellent round to break 400 as a team, finishing in sixth place with a 39-over 399. They finished just six shots back of a top-five slot. Reedley took home first place with an 18-over 378 with Orange Coast (381, +21) and Mount San Antonio (387, +27) rounding out the top three spots.

Kevin Hikichi also broke 80 for the Warriors as he posted a 7-over 79, besting his round last week by two strokes and placing tied for 25th overall in the 71-golfer field on Wednesday.

Chan Woo Suk (80, +8), Wyatt Seal (83, +11) and Bradley Yamamoto (83, +11) rounded out the team scoring for ECC with Yvo Galvez carding a 13-over 85.

David Gutierrez competed as an individual and posted a 9-over 81 to finish tied for 35th on the day.

The Warriors will open Orange Empire Conference action on Wednesday, Feb. 28 when they host for first OEC Coastal League Match of the season at Alondra Golf Course in Lawndale, Calif. The teams are set to tee off at 10 a.m.
