Marschall Shines as Men’s Golf Begins Conference Play
Freshman Dylan Marschall had a stellar round Monday as the Warriors opened Orange Empire Conference action in the first OEC Match hosted by Cypress at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress, Calif.
Marschall tied for second overall after shooting an even-par 72 to pace the Warriors. He finished just three shots back of medalist and Cypress No. 3 Panos Pantazopoulos, who posted a 3-under 69.
Marschall's showing was part of an impressive day on the course as he was one of 28 golfers to shoot in the 70s in the 35-player field.
As for the Warriors, they finished fifth after not posting a score due to two withdrawals, preventing the team from posting a qualifying score. Cypress won the match with a 362 followed by Irvine Valley at 368 and then Riverside in third at 384.
The Warriors will return to action on March 9 as they host the second OEC Match of the season at Los Verdes Golf Course in Palos Verdes, Calif. The first group is set to tee off at 10 a.m.
