TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 62-52 non-conference loss to visiting Southwestern on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors shot just 33.3 percent from the field and 21.7 percent from 3-point range along with a 56.3 from the free-throw line which proved to be the difference.

Billy Ray Barnes III scored  21 points to lead all scorers on 9-of-13 shooting but he was only one of two Warriors that shot better than 50 percent on the night. Logan Kingston was 2-for-3 in six minutes of action.

The free-throw line was pivotal as the Jaguars hit 13-of-15 from the charity stripe while the Warriors were 9-for-16.

The game was close in the first half with the Jaguars holding a 27-26 advantage after 20 minutes. But the visitors managed to open up a 10-point lead with 13:30 left in regulation and were able to hold off the Warriors the rest of the way.

The Warriors were able to get within four points with 3:12 left on a Barnes III putback bucket but the Warriors converted just one field goal the rest of the way, a 3-pointer with four seconds left.

The Warriors will now hit the road for their next three games beginning with a trip to L.A. Pierce on Nov. 29. They will return home on Dec. 13 to host Irvine Valley.
