TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College erased a 17-point second-half deficit but could not get over the hump in a 70-65 South Coast Conference, South Division loss to L.A. Harbor Wednesday night at the ECC North Gym.

The Warriors (4-15, 0-1) were down by 17 with 11 minutes left in the second half but clawed all the way back, tying things up at 65-65 with 1:18 left in regulation on a layup by Justin Chambers.

But Quincy Pinkard answered with a layup on the ensuing possession and the Warriors would not score again the rest of the way, dropping their conference opener.

Chambers finished the night with 20 points and five rebounds while Justin Reyes led the team with 24 points on 8-for-14 shooting including a 5-for-10 night from beyond the arc. Jamal Bogan added 10 points in the loss.

The Seahawks were led by Chris Jackson and Jacob Washington with 20 points apiece. Jackson added 14 rebounds while Washington hauled in nine boards. Pinkard flirted with a triple-double, scoring 11 points while adding nine assists and eight rebounds.

The Warriors will return to action Friday night on the road against Cerritos. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
