Reyes Leads Warriors Effort in Win at Rio Hondo

Justin Reyes helped lead El Camino College to a 92-82 road victory over Rio Hondo in a non-conference game on Wednesday night.

Reyes dropped 21 points on 6-for-8 shooting to lead the Warriors (4-13) to victory, snapping a nine-game losing streak and giving ECC its first road win of the season. Five Warriors notched double figures overall with David Henderson scoring 14 points, Justin Chambers and Terence Clayton added 12 apiece and Jamal Howard scored 10 points.

For the Roadrunners, Jonathan Martinez led all scorers with 22 points and Bryant Howing added 19 in the loss.

The Warriors outscored the Roadrunners 54-39 in the second half to overcome a five-point halftime deficit. They shot 57.4 percent on the night and hit 12-of-22 shots from beyond the arc. The Warriors also outrebounded the Roadrunners 32-22.

The game featured seven ties and 15 lead changes overall and ECC outscored Rio Hondo 38-34 in the paint to go along with a 39-6 edge in bench points.

The Warriors will return to action Friday night as they host L.A. Trade Tech at the ECC North Gym. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
