Warriors Win in Another Great Comeback

TORRANCE, Calif. – The final game of the Tournament of Champions hosted by El Camino College had just as much excitement as the first two games. El Camino defeated LA Trade Tech 105-104 in a nail-biting game, finishing the tournament 2-1. The Warrior's are now 5-1 to start the season.

The first half of the game was neck-and-neck between the two teams. The Warriors took the lead 36-29 in the first half with 4:03 left. However, at the end of the half, the Warriors trailed 50-40. 

The Warriors started the second half slowly, but the momentum shifted towards the later half of the second half with help from the bench from Keywhon Powns.   Powns helped tie with game at 91 with 6 minutes left in the game.  With 30 seconds left, the Warriors trailed by 1 point. Brandon Guerrero completed two free throws with 20 seconds left which had the Warriors up by 1. The Warriors were able to hold the Beavers to a one point lead allowing them to win their second game of the tournament, 105-104.

Freshman Jamal Heckard, MVP of the tournament, had 18 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.  The Warriors are away at Irvine Valley at 5:00 pm on Wednesday.
