Football Nets a Dozen All-League Selections

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had 12 players selected to the Southern California Football Alliance National Central All-League team.

The Warriors, who finished 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the National Central League, received five selections to the first team and seven selections to the second team.

The 12 selections mark the third most for the Warriors in head coach Gifford Lindheim's tenure, which dates back to 2016. The Warriors had 14 selections in both 2019 and 2017.

Lando Brown, Michael Kielbasa and Justin Sanchez all made the All-Central League First Team on defense while Stephen Bradford Jr. and Dion Moore netted the Warriors' first team selections on offense.

Defensive backs Deven Jarvis and Davion McClinton along with punt-returner Bryant Williams made the All-Central League Second Team on defense with Demoni Sanchez, DaJuanye Wingfield, Kevin Duran and Brandyn Jordan making the second team on offense.

Kielbasa, Sanchez and Brown are currently the top, second and third leading tacklers respectively on the Warriors this season. Kielbasa has played in all 10 games for the Warriors and has racked up 52 total tackles (23 solo) including 2.5 tackles for a loss and one sack.

Sanchez has 52 tackles (32 solo) this year in nine games played with three sacks and 9.5 tackles for a loss. He's also recovered two fumbles and has added one interception to his ledger this year.

Brown is currently flirting with history in his freshman campaign at ECC. The defensive end has recorded 51 tackles (30 solo) including a team-high 15 tackles for a loss. He's recorded nine sacks on the year, which is tied for the top spot in the SCFA with Ismail Souza of Golden West. The nine sacks have also placed Brown in a tie for ninth place in the Warriors all-time record book for the most sacks in a single season.

On the offensive side, Moore has played in all 10 games and leads the Warriors with 37 receptions and 612 receiving yards. He's scored five receiving touchdowns. In addition, Moore has piled up 103 rushing yards on 10 carries and has also gone 3-for-3 in pass attempts for 63 yards and two touchdowns.

Bradford Jr. has had a breakout freshman season in the backfield as he's rushed for 916 yards on 165 carries, which currently ranks him third in the SCFA. His 916 rushing yards are also has him 29 yards away from breaking into the ECC Top-10 All-Time in single-season rushing yards. Aaron Craver currently ranks 10th with 945 yards in 1988.

Jarvis and McClinton have both had solid years in the secondary for the Warriors in 2021. Jarvis is fourth on the team with 42 tackles (27 solo) and has 3.5 tackles for a loss. Jarvis also has two interceptions on the season.

McClinton has been the Warriors ace in pass coverage as he's tied for the team lead with three interceptions and he's alone at the top with five pass break-ups. He's also played in all 10 games for the Warriors and has 12 tackles on the year.

Williams was the Warriors main punt-returner this year nd he gained 106 yards on 11 returns as he played all 10 games for the Warriors.

Sanchez is second on the team with 396 receiving yards on 22 catches but his 18.0 yards per catch average is tops on the Warriors. He's scored three touchdowns in nine games played including a 60-yard TD catch.

Jordan was the team's second leading rusher with 303 yards on 83 carries with six touchdowns. He also hauled in 14 catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

Duran and Wingfield were members of an offensive line that helped fuel an offense that currently ranks sixth in the SCFA in total offense and third in total rushing yards.

The Warriors will host East Los Angeles in the 2021 Beach Bowl on Saturday with kickoff set for 6 p.m. It will be the Warriors' fourth straight bowl appearance and it is the 27th year in program history that the team has played in a postseason bowl
