Former Warriors Football Player Ray Lima Signs with Miami Dolphins

Former El Camino College defensive lineman Ray Lima signed as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, it was announced Saturday.

The defensive tackle played in all 10 games for the Warriors football team in 2015 and transferred to Iowa State University where he played his last three collegiate seasons before signing professionally on Saturday.

In 2015, Lima was the anchor for the Warriors defensive line, playing all 10 games for the Warriors. He tallied 59 tackles (26 solo) including seven sacks and 21.5 tackles for a loss, forcing three fumbles. He led the team with three forced fumbles while ranking second on the squad in sacks and fifth in total tackles. His numbers earned Lima a First-Team All-SCFA Central Division selection.

Lima was rated as the No. 13 defensive tackle by ESPN and was ranked the No. 40 community college football player nationally by Scout.com and 247Sports coming out of ECC.

The former West Torrance High School product would transfer to Iowa State where he logged 33 career starts for the Cyclones. He recorded 87 career tackles including 10.5 tackles for a loss throughout his career at ISU.

He earned a number of accolades with the Cyclones including back-to-back Second-Team All-Big 12 selections in 2018 and 2019 after earning Honorable Mention as a sophomore. He secured a First-Team All-Big 12 selection from ESPN in 2018 as well.

Lima was also a First-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection in his junior and senior seasons and was a Jason Witten Man of the Year Award semifinalist as a senior.
