TORRANCE, Calif. --- Sophomore Lucas Bonham led the charge for El Camino College in a 14-1 South Coast Conference victory over Compton on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Bonham continued to terrorize Tartars pitching on Saturday as he went 3-for-4 with a double, home run, four RBIs and three runs scored. He was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle and extended his hitting streak to five games and his multi-hit game streak to four straight to help the Warriors complete the sweep.

For the series, Bonham torched Compton pitching as he went 8-for-14 with four doubles, three home runs, 13 RBIs and seven runs scored.

As a team, the Warriors outscored Compton 53-14 in the three-game series and tallied 40 total hits with 19 extra-base hits including seven homers.

On Saturday, the avalanche began in the sixth inning as Cameron O'Neil led off the frame with a strikeout. But the ball bounced in the dirt and catcher Kurtis Song spiked the throw to first, allowing O'Neil to reach. The ball rolled all the way to the right-field wall allowing O'Neil to get to third base and the barrage commenced from there.

The Warriors would send 10 batters to the plate in the sixth and plate six runs on four hits and two errors, giving ECC an 11-1 lead and they never looked back.

Luke Steward picked up the victory on the mound as he went six innings and allowed one run on four hits. He walked four and struck out six to pick up his fifth win of the season.

The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday for another pivotal SCC series against Pasadena. The Warriors currently sit in fourth place in the conference with an 11-7 SCC record with Pasadena a step below in fifth place with a 9-6 mark in conference play.
