SANTA ANA, Calif. --- El Camino College fell behind early and never recovered, dropping game one of the 3C2A Southern California Regionals to Santa Ana, 6-1, on Friday at Santa Ana College.
The Warriors recorded just four hits on the day as the host Dons pounded out 11 including three doubles.
The Warriors fell behind 4-0 before they got their first run in the fourth but by then it was too late.
Matt Hammond was 1-for-3 with a double and Jason Davis went seven innings and struck out three in a losing effort.
The teams will return to action on Saturday for game two with the Warriors as the designated home team, looking to even up the series.
