Davis Tosses CG Shutout, Meidroth Goes 5-for-5 in win over Rio Hondo

TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors put on a dominant display in a 18-0 series opening win over Rio Hondo College on Tuesday at Warrior Field. 

Jason Davis tossed a "Maddux" complete game shutout and allowed just four hits, zero walks, and struck out 9 batters in just 91 pitches.  

The Warriors (14-16, 7-9 SCC) offense continued its hot streak after adding 18 runs on 19 hits. The Warriors have scored 46 runs in their last three games and have 50 hits during that span.

Connor Meidroth led the Warriors by going a perfect 5-for-5 at the dish with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.  He was a triple short of the cycle but was a perfect 6-for-6 on reaching the bases after drawing a walk in his final at bat.

Ryan Matsuka was 3-for-6 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.  Lucas Bonham was 3-for-6 with 1 run.  Matt Hammond was 2-for-3 with 2 runs.  Eric Perez was 2-for-5 with 3 runs and 5 RBIs.  Meidroth, Perez, and Chris Marquis each hit home runs for the Warriors.

The Warriors scored in every inning except the second and third inning.  The Warriors scored multiple runs during the final five frames.  

After today's game was a site switch with Rio Hondo. The rest of the series on Thursday and Saturday will switch over to "The Jungle" at Rio Hondo College.
