TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College Warriors baseball team defeated the Glendale Vaqueros 9-2 at Warrior Field on Thursday afternoon.

The Warriors improved to 21-9 overall for the season.  The Warriors last played Glendale in last year's second round of the CCCAA Regional Playoffs where they were eliminated in two games.

The offense remained on fire after scoring nine runs on 15 hits. Every starter in the lineup had at least one hit.  Elijah Tolsma led the offense with a 3-for-5 day with 1 run and 2 RBIs on his fourth home run of the season.  Ethan Felix, Daniel Murillo, Juan Carlos Camarena, and Connor Meidroth all had multi-hit games.  Dylan Knowles, Murillo, Tolsma, and Carlos Camera each had 2 RBIs for the game.

David Case picked up the win and went to 4-0 on the season after allowing just one run on six hits, four walks, and fanning 8 batters.  Jason Davis tossed three innings of relief and allowed one run.  Anthony Joya tossed a scoreless frame to finish out the game.

Glendale started the game threatening with two runners in scoring position in the first inning, however, Case was able to pick off the runner at third to escape the jam in the inning.

The Warriors ended up scoring first after Elijah Tolsma hit a two-run bomb in the second inning.

Glendale got one run back in the third after Brandon Nguyen doubled to the deepest part of the outfield with two runners on.  However, the trail runner was thrown out at home on a perfect relay play by the Warriors defense to keep the score at 2-1.

The Warriors scored three runs in the third inning.  Dylan Knowles doubled in two runs to make it a 4-1 game and Daniel Murillo doubled in Knowles to make it a 5-1 game.

The Warriors added one run in each of the fourth and fifth inning after sac flies from Brendan McAndrews and Juan Carlos Camerena.

The Vaqueros got their second run of the game in the seventh inning after a sac fly following a leadoff triple.

The Warriors added two more insurance runs in the eighth inning on RBI base hits from Daniel Murillo and Juan Carlos Camerena to make it a 9-2 ballgame.

The Warriors will look to keep the momentum going when they host Santa Ana College on Friday at 2:00 p.m for their final non-conference regular season game of the season.
