Warriors Take Series Over Falcons

TORRANCE, Calif. - The Warriors had some solid pitching and timely hitting as they defeated the Cerritos Falcons 7-2 on Thursday at Warrior Field.

The Warriors (16-7, 4-4 SCC) took their second straight South Coast Conference series.  The Falcons fell to 7-14-1, 3-8 SCC for the season.  

Jack Snyder picked up the win after allowing two runs on nine hits, one walk, and ten strikeouts.  Julian Diaz picked up the save after tossing two scoreless frames.

The Warriors out-slugged the Falcons with 12 hits-to-10 hits.  Jake Harper had his best game in a Warrior uniform as he led the team with a perfect 4-for-4 game including a solo home run in the 8th inning.  Theo Forshey had two hits with two runs and two RBIs.

The Falcons took the lead in the second inning after having three straight two out hits.  

However the Warriors tied it up in the 3rd inning after Theo Forshey scored Jake Harper on a bases loaded RBI groundout.

The Warriors added two in the fourth inning after Jake Harper and Julio Camerena had RBI base hits.

The Falcons would get one more run in the sixth inning before the Warriors responded with four unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth inning.

Forshey had a double in the 7th inning and eventually came around to score on a failed pick off attempt and a wild pitch.

In the eighth, Jake Harper led the inning off with a home run over the right field fence. Theo Forshey and Ethan Felix would have back-to-back RBIs in the inning.

The Warriors will attempt the series sweep on Saturday at Cerritos.  First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
