El Camino College Warriors baseball alumni Kenneth Haus and Jimmy Galicia each made their 2021 NCAA Division I debut this past weekend as the 2021 NCAA baseball season got underway.

Haus Tosses Two Shutout Innings in Relief at No. 5 Virginia

The 5-foot-11, 184-pound senior right hander made his season debut in the Huskies' season opener against Virginia on Friday. He entered the game in the seventh inning with the Huskies trailing the Cavaliers, 2-1. Haus was solid in relief as he kept the Cavaliers off the scoreboard. Four of the six outs he recorded came by way of strikeout.

Haus attended ECC and pitched for the Warriors for two years (2017-18). He went 10-2 for the Warriors as a sophomore and tossed 104 innings. He made 16 starts and posted a 2.77 ERA with 98 strikeouts. As a freshman, Haus made 16 appearances and logged 46 innings with 41 strikeouts. He picked up four victories on the mound to go along with three saves.

In his first season at UCONN in 2019, Haus had 14 appearances and made six starts. He went 2-1 with a 5.74 ERA and struck out 25 batters in 31.1 innings pitched.

Galicia Posts Strong Debut but Lions Blanked by Trojans

Making his NCAA Division I debut, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound righty put together a quality start for Loyola Marymount, going six innings and allowing just two runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out three. Galicia took the loss, however, as the Lions offense couldn't get anything going in a 5-0 road loss to the University of Southern California.

Galicia attended ECC for two years (2019-20) and was a cornerstone of the Warriors baseball team. As a freshman in 2019, Galicia appeared in 18 games on the mound and went 13-3 with a 1.92 ERA in 122 innings. He tossed four complete games and recorded 83 strikeouts. He helped lead the Warriors to a runner-up finish at the CCCAA State Championships and earned a number of accolades including nods to the CCCBCA All-State Team, ABCA Rawlings Pacific Association Southern California All-Region Team and a spot on the All-SCC South Division First Team.

In 2020, Galicia was off to a great start with a 6-1 record on the mound in eight starts and had 56 striekouts in 57 innings pitched before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
