RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - No.5 El Camino College defeated the Chaffey College Panthers 8-3 on the road on Tuesday afternoon at Lowder Field.

The Warriors (26-5, 14-4 SCC) never fell behind in the game and shared the lead for half an inning.  After they led 2-0 early in the first inning, they immediately regained the lead following the Panthers (20-12, 10-8 SCC) tying the game up in the second inning.

Four Warriors had multi-hit games for the day.  Ty Conrad was 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Spencer Palmer was 2-for-5 with two runs scored.  Joseph Borges was 2-for-5 with three runs scored. Aaron Orozco was 2-for-5 with one RBI. The Warriors also greatly benefitted from the Panthers defense committing six errors for the game.

Max Pappas picked up his seventh win of the season after tossing eight innings of work.  Pappas allowed three runs on seven hits, zero walks, and struck out six batters. Garrett Spicuzza closed out the game by pitching a scoreless inning.

The Warriors struck for two runs in the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead.  After singles from Palmer and Borges, Spencer Long reached the bases on an error to bring in one run.  Aaron Orozco singled up the middle to score Borges to score the second run of the inning.

Chaffey tied the game up in the second inning with two runs of their own.  But the Warriors responded right away in the third inning to get those runs back.  Borges and Long both got on base safely to start the inning before Ty Conrad singled in both runners to make it a 4-2 game.

The Warriors added one run in the fifth inning.  Taishi Nakawake lead the inning off with a triple down the LF line and Jerry Granillo scored him on a sacrifice fly to make it 5-2.

The Warriors added three more insurance runs in the seventh inning.  Spencer Palmer and Joseph Borges led the inning off with a double and a single.  Spencer Long drove in a run to make it 6-2. Ty Conrad singled to score Borges to make it 7-2.  Aaron Orozco singled to load the bases and Matt Beserra brought home another run after an error by the shortstop to make it 8-2. Chaffey got one run back in the bottom of the seventh, but that was the last of the scoring in the game.

The Warriors will now host Chaffey College on Thursday, April 11th.  They are looking to win their seventh South Coast Conference series in a row.  First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 PM at Warrior Field.
