Baseball Completes Sweep over Compton

COMPTON, Calif. - El Camino College completed a three-game sweep over Compton College on Saturday with a 11-3 win.

The Warriors (23-4, 11-3) outscored the Tartars (5-22, 2-11) twenty-nine runs to seven runs for the week.  

All nine of the Warrior batters in the starting lineup had at least one hit in the game.  Jerry Granillo had three hits while Logan Young, Joseph Borges, Ty Conrad, and Sladen Mohl each recorded two hits.  Spencer Palmer and Ty Conrad both hit a home run in Saturday's game.

Aaron Orozco picked up his seventh win for the season.  Orozco tossed 6.1 innings giving up three runs on four hits, five walks, and striking out four batters.  Julian Diaz and Joseph Brazil each pitched the rest of the scoreless 2.2 innings of work.

The Warriors jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning.  They extended the lead to 5-0 in the sixth inning before Compton scored one run back.

The Warriors added five more runs in the seventh and eighth inning to extend the lead to 10-1 before Compton got two runs back to finish the game.  

The Warriors begin a three-game set with Long Beach City College on Tuesday, April 2nd.  The Vikings are atop the SCC standings with an 11-2 record in conference play. The Warriors will host two of the three games, with the first game on Tuesday at Warrior Field.  First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
