Baseball Wallops Compton to Clinch Series

El Camino College poured on the offense for the second straight game and defeated Compton 13-1 in a South Coast Conference victory Thursday afternoon at the MLB Youth Academy.
The Warriors (23-16, 12-9) pounded out 18 hits on the day with seven players recording multi-hit games on the day. Matthew Beserra led the charge as he went 3-for-6 with three RBI while Joseph Borges was 3-for-5 with two RBI and four runs scored.
Daniel Alvarez picked up the win, going seven innings and surrendering one run on six hits. He walked one and struck out six. Trevor Talpas went the final two innings and allowed just one hit while striking out four.
The Warriors will look to close out the regular season with a sweep as they host the Tartars on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
