Folgers Bombs Not Enough as Warriors fall to L.A. Harbor at Home

TORRANCE, Calif. – Jordan Folgers hit a pair of home runs including the game-tying dinger in the eighth inning but it was not enough as El Camino College dropped an 8-4 South Coast Conference decision to L.A. Harbor Thursday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Folgers finished the day 2-for-4 with two homers and drove in three of the Warriors' (18-13, 7-6) four runs on the day. Spencer Palmer went 3-for-4 with a double in the loss.

Chris Villavicensio led the charge for the Seahawks (15-15, 3-9) as he went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI on the day.

Folgers put the Warriors up early with a solo home run in the first inning, launching a pitch from Seahawks starter Kristian Hernandez.

In the third, the Seahawks and Villavicensio responded as the designated hitter blasted a two-run home run over the scoreboard in right field to put the visitors up 2-1.

The Seahawks eventually built a 4-2 lead and held it into the bottom of the eighth, but Folgers erased that with one swing of the bat as he blasted a pitch from reliever Ryan Robinson over the left-field wall with a man on to tie things up at 4-4.

But the comeback bid was nipped in the bud in the ninth as the Seahawks put up four runs on Warriors reliever Nathan Draves to record the victory.

The teams will meet in the rubber match of the series Saturday afternoon at O'Brien Field. First pitch is set for noon.
