TORRANCE, Calif. – Right-hander Taylor Rashi tossed his second complete game of the season and El Camino College jumped out to a big lead early en route to an 8-1 victory over Pasadena in game one of the California Community College Baseball Southern California Super Regional Friday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Rashi allowed just one unearned run on seven hits, fanning nine as he picked up his 11th win of the season and led the Warriors (36-8) to a 1-0 lead in the series over the Lancers (26-14).

The Warriors ace had plenty of run support as the team scored seven runs in the first two innings including a five-run second that saw 10 Warriors come to the plate.

Trevor Casanova went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Brady Dorn was 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs to lead ECC.

The Warriors took the early lead with a run in the first as Casanova led off with a 10-pitch walk against Lancers starter Paul McAllister. After a popup for the first out, Dorn stepped in and hammered a triple to the left-center field gap to bring in Casanova. Ryan Eastburn followed with a single to left field to put the Warriors up 2-0.

The second inning marked the end of the line for McAllister and essentially put the game away as the Warriors batted around, scoring five times in the inning on four hits and two Lancers errors.

Ty Conrad, Dorn, Connor Underwood and Cody Wissler each drove in a run in the frame to put the Warriors up 7-0 and they never looked back.

McAllister took the loss as he was touched up for five runs on four hits and four walks, tossing just one inning. Overall, the Lancers used five pitchers on Friday afternoon.

Both teams will return to action Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Warrior Field for game two of the series. The Warriors are looking to take the series and advance to next week's CCCAA Baseball Southern California Sectionals while the Lancers are hoping to force a winner-take-all game three on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Field.
