Barba Earns Player of the Week Honors

El Camino College outfielder Noah Barba was named the California Community College Baseball Coaches' Association's SOCAL Player of the Week, it was announced Wednesday.

Barba helped lead the No. 1 ranked Warriors to a three-game sweep over No. 18 Los Angeles Mission College last week, batting .583 (7-for-12) with two home runs and 10 RBIs. He also scored five runs and slugged 1.083 in the three games to go with a .643 on-base percentage.

Barba went 3-for-5 in the Warriors 11-7 victory in game one of the series on April 11. He hit a two-run shot in the second inning to open the scoring and give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.

Game two proved to be Barba's masterpiece as the sophomore from Santa Monica, Calif. recorded another three-hit game and tallied six RBIs including a three-run shot as the Warriors went on to win 20-0 on the road against the Eagles.

For the season, Barba is currently batting .300 with four homers and 37 RBIs to go along with 36 runs scored in 36 games played. He has six doubles, five triples and a .400 on-base percentage.

The Warriors take on Rio Hondo on the road today at 2:30 p.m. A victory clinch the outright South Coast Conference title for the Warriors.
