TORRANCE, Calif. – No. 1 El Camino College overcame two separate deficits and picked up its 20th straight victory with a 6-3 South Coast Conference-South Division matchup with Los Angeles Harbor Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

The Warriors (28-2, 15-0) are now five games up on second-place Long Beach City with seven conference games left to play after overcoming early one-run and two-run deficits on Tuesday. Ty Conrad, Angel Mora, Ryan Eastburn and Noah Barba each tallied two hits on the day against Seahawks (12-16-1, 7-7) pitching with Barba and Conrad each driving in a pair of runs.

The Seahawks jumped out in front early as Alec Ojeda led off the game by getting hit by a pitch from Warriors starter Ricky Ramos. Mike Gonzalez followed with a base hit to center field. The ball proceeded to bounce over Barba in center on an unusually high hop, allowing Ojeda to come all the way around to score and Gonzalez to reach second with a double.

The Warriors would tie the game in the second inning as Angel Mora led off the frame with a flare over second base and into right for a lead-off single. Ryan Eastburn then turned on a pitch from Abdallah and singled to right, advancing Mora all the way to third. Barba then followed with a base hit to left to plate Mora and tie the game at 1-1.

In the fourth, the Seahawks regained the lead after Joe Argumendo led off with a single through the left side, one of his three hits on the day. Ruben Markham then blasted a Ramos pitch off the top of the left-center field wall and over for a two-run shot to give the Seahawks a 3-1 lead.

The Warriors responded quickly in their half of the fourth as Cody Wissler got things started with a one-out single up the middle. He'd advance to second on a wild pitch and took third after Trevor Casanova reached on an error at short. Conrad hit into a fielder's choice as the Seahawks erased Casanova at second but Wissler scored to make it 3-2. Dorn then capped the inning with a double to the right-center field gap, bringing in Conrad all the way from first to tie things up again, 3-3.

Reliever Kenneth Haus, who entered the game in the fifth for the Warriors after Johnny Saldana smacked a one-out double off Ramos. He would make sure the Seahawks got nothing more the rest of the way as he allowed just two hits and two walks in four innings of relief while striking out three en route to his third victory of the season.

The Warriors got him that victory after Conrad doubled in Casanova in the sixth and then picked up a pair of insurance runs in the eighth inning as Eastburn and Barba each had RBI hits in the frame to put ECC up 6-3.

Jake Carr came into the game with one out in the ninth and slammed the door as he struck out Jon Applebury and induced a groundout from pinch-hitter David Ramirez for the final out of the game.

The Warriors and Seahawks will play game two of their three-game set on Thursday afternoon at L.A. Harbor before wrapping up the series Saturday at noon at Warrior Field.
